Introduction to k-contact geometry and applications
k-contact geometry is a generalisation of contact geometry that naturally extends its scope to the geometric formulation of field theories, while preserving and enriching many of the characteristic features of classical contact geometry.
This talk aims to introduce the fundamentals of k-contact geometry and to illustrate its potential applications in classical mechanics, differential equations, and field theories. In particular, applications to thermodynamical relativistic hydrodynamical systems, integrable systems, Dirac-type equations, k-contact Lagrangian equations, control systems, characteristics of Lie symmetries, and conditional symmetries will be briefly discussed.
